Sunday afternoon send off:
Bothy gig with Beatha and Gillie O Flaherty & Breanna Wilson

Sunday 6th October
Felagie Cottage
1pm

Our very special Sunday afternoon festival send-off… the Bothy Gig at Felagie Cottage.

This is a magical event, unique to Braemar Folk Festival. A cosy fire, live acoustic music by candlelight, while you enjoy a couple of drinks or a warming mug of soup and a freshly-baked roll.

Performing for us will be some of Scotland’s finest traditional musicians. In the first half: fiddle and guitar duo 'Gillie O Flaherty and Breanna Wilson' followed by 'Beatha Trio' comprising whistle, keys and bodhran.

There are only a small number of tickets available, so get yours now!

Please note that space within the bothy is very limited and seating with a view of the musicians is not guaranteed. Soup and rolls and a selection of drinks will be available for a donation.

Meet at the Keiloch Car Park near Invercauld Bridge no later than 12.40pm on Sunday 6th October and you’ll be met by experienced local guide Annie Armstrong and some other Folk Festival volunteers. A short 20 minute walk on an estate track will lead you to the music which starts at 1pm.

Once the music has finished, you’ll be guided back to the carpark.

Please note: This event involves a moderate 20-minute walk each way and it may be uneven and slippery underfoot. Walking boots or robust, grippy shoes are advised. Likewise, while we can guarantee an amazing weekend of music, we can’t guarantee perfect weather. Please do bring a waterproof jacket with you and wrap up warm. If you have accessibility requirements or are not able to manage the walk to and from the bothy, please let us know in advance and we will try and make alternative arrangements to allow you to get there to enjoy the music.
